Haha. From what he told my mom, that car is completely fucked. He was driving in the rain, and somehow managed to slide off of the road and into a tree at speed.

First was a wrong order, and he figured it out after about a month when he realized it was missing features, this one, and now the third one is on order.

I wouldn’t trust him to take my blood. He definitely needs the Jalopnik edition 320i.

M4 convertible, hits a tree, 3rd 2015 M4...yeah, he’s a bad driver.

And the insurance will pay out? It's not like the tree jumped out in his way. And this is his 3 M4?

Sad, and I don’t even like the M4. He should try to drive the next one within the bounds of his talent, which is to say slowly and with all nannies turned on. Of course he can feel free to kill as many convertibles as he wants...

I know there’s no real reason to sass people who drive like dipshits - insurance does pay for stupidity, after all, but I just can’t help myself. There are very few justifiable causes for wrapping 3 feet of M4 nose around a tree, and I think if the reason was “a child ran in front of me,” we’d have heard it already. =P

I was especially laughing at your convertible comment. One of the great things about our car is how predictable it is - linear power delivery and fairly neutral when losing traction. Some of the reviews of the new car say it can be a bit of a handful at times, a bit scary at the limit (I don’t even remember seeing an E9x go flying over the center median on a wide, straight road). I’m sure operator error was at play here, but the car may not have helped...

Confidence-inspiring, even in the wet:

I never get tired of that video, not just because of the outcome but because, after living with the car, I was astounded by how insightful Chris and Jethro are. You can listen to hundreds of their reviews but unless you have first-hand familiarity with the test subject, it’s not going to really hit you how good they are at their jobs.

Kinja'd!!! davesaddiction @ opposite-lock.com > BKRM3
05/12/2015 at 11:53

Kinja'd!!!0

Yeah - top notch.

I’d read nearly all the reviews available prior to buying my car, and the thing that really got me is how much some of these journalists still loved the car so much after a long-term test with it. Winning a comparison is one thing; driving a car for a year and still loving it at the end is another. All of this was in my head when I finally test drove the car I ended up buying, and the experience of driving it just further solidified everything I’d ever read and heard about the car.

No. E46 seats work though. E90 seat rails are different and the seats are wider. E46’s can be either a perfect fit or might require a grind of the hole.

My E46 sport manual leather seats were a perfect fit. (Unicorn seats - pulled out of a 330Ci ZHP). They takes up more room than the E36 seats though.. so FYI. E46 M3 seats work too. Good luck finding manual seats.

You can splice the electronics to work, but airbag sensor can be an issue... (Read: Don’t get in an accident b/c no airbags or can deploy during installation)
